Information we collect

Account and workspace information

We process account identifiers such as your name and email address, authentication and session information, workspace membership, monitor configuration, notification settings, integrations, and support communications.

Monitoring and operational information

To provide the service, we process monitored URLs and endpoints, check results, response timing, availability and TLS metadata, heartbeat events, incidents, status-page content, and related operational logs.

Website usage and security information

Our first-party analytics may process a normalized page path, external referrer hostname, timestamp, browser or device information, IP address, and approximate city, region, and country. We do not store full referrer URLs.

How we use information

• Provide, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot UptimeMonk.
• Run checks, create incidents, send requested notifications, and display reports.
• Authenticate users, prevent abuse, investigate security events, and maintain audit records.
• Understand service usage and improve reliability and product experience.
• Respond to support, billing, privacy, and legal requests.

Analytics, IP addresses, and cookies

UptimeMonk uses first-party analytics rather than advertising analytics. A daily rotating one-way identifier supports approximate unique-visitor counts. A normalized IP address may be encrypted using authenticated encryption and retained for up to 7 days for restricted operational review. Approximate location and other page-view records may be retained for up to 90 days.

IP geolocation is performed within our service using a locally hosted database; visitor IP addresses are not submitted to a hosted geolocation provider for this purpose.

We use essential cookies for authentication, session security, and login flows. We may also store preferences, such as your chosen display theme, in local browser storage. We do not use these technologies to sell personal information or deliver targeted advertising.

Service providers and disclosure

We use service providers for cloud hosting, authentication, infrastructure, email delivery, support, and—when paid billing is enabled—payment processing. They may process information only as needed to provide their services to us and subject to their own contractual and legal obligations.

Payment processors receive the payment details needed to complete a purchase. Complete payment-card numbers are handled by the payment processor and are not stored by UptimeMonk. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or in connection with a corporate transaction.

We do not sell personal information.

Retention and security

We retain account, workspace, monitoring, incident, billing, and audit information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet plan commitments, maintain security, resolve disputes, and comply with law. Retention periods may vary by data type and subscription plan.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You may update certain account and workspace information through the service. You may also ask us to access, correct, export, or delete personal information, subject to applicable law and legitimate retention requirements.

International processing, children, and changes

Our providers and systems may process information in countries other than your own. UptimeMonk is intended for users age 18 and older and is not directed to children.

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above.
